You might recognize the red arrow on our design from Johnny’s Tavern, a Lawrence institution serving up burgers, cold drinks, and good times since 1953. That original arrow sign is still out front today, representing a little piece of local history that’s been pointing people toward a good time for decades!
And standing tall beside it is KU’s Memorial Campanile, the 120-foot limestone bell tower on Mount Oread. Dedicated in 1951, it honors members of the KU community who lost their lives in World War II.
